VakifBank ISTANBUL are the big winners of the Pool B clash for reign of the group. SCANDICCI were in front and would have qualified for the quarterfinals if they had won, but the team of Giovanni Guidetti had other plans. With leading lady Isabelle Hakk being on fire with a 58% efficiency the Turkish side was unbeatable. Final score: 0-3 (26-28, 19-25, 21-25).

VakifBank were leading through most of the opening set, only to see SCANDICCI level up again at 22-22 after setter Ofelia Malinov performed a surprise attack. The 4-time Champions League winners weren't bothered too much and on their 5th setpoint it was Milena Rasic who hit the ace.

That set win was just what the doctor ordered and VakifBank went on to secure the win in straight sets. They now lead Pool B with 12 points from four wins. SCANDICCI are second with 10 points from four wins. On the 18th of February both teams might be able to reach the quarterfinals.

VakifBank's Isabelle Haak scored 24 points for her team, on the other side Lonneke Slöetjes scored only half as much to lead SCANDICCI.

Lonneke Slöetjes, opposite for Savino Del Bene SCANDICCI: "It was a really tough game, I think VakifBank played a really strong match in serve. We hade some trouble in reception and they also have a good block, so it was really hard to score points. You can see that in the score. There's still hope. We played some good rallies, we have to look forward."

Giovanni Guidetti, head coach of VakifBank ISTANBUL: "I am very happy, because it was a very important match for us. We came here with some small physical problem, but the team was very focused, very motivated. We didn't't like to lose the first match against SCANDICCI in our home and today we entered the court with the right spirit, the right mood. We played pretty good volleyball."

Isabelle Haak, opposite for VakifBank ISTANBUL: "It was a great game for us. I'm so happy, we have prepared for so long. This match was really important for the place in the group, so we did a really good job. We changed a lot as a team, improved a lot. I'm super proud of everyone. We did great tactics and everything, it was really fun to play here. And in front of all the fans, people that I know from before, so it was great."
