• VakifBank ISTANBUL records a first win in this year’s edition of #CLVolleyW as in their first match of the group stage they lost a five-set thriller vs the Italians of Savino Del Bene SCANDICCI.
• VakifBank ISTANBUL started slowly but as the first set was unfolding, the Turkish powerhouse were speeding up, being more stable in the different components with great performances in the center with Isabelle Haak from the guest team scoring 9 points in this part. Haak then continued with her great performance and became MVP of the match with a total of 19 points.
• Almost the same scenario witnessed the #CLVolleyW fans in the second set with VakifBank controlling the game, being more precise in the small details, playing smart. Anita Sobočan and Lorena Lorber Fijok from the home side managed to score some points, but that was not enough to stop the “flying” Turkish players.
• Until the end of the match no surprises were delivered with VakifBank outclassing their opponents in all the aspects of the game, but most of all at the block (15 vs 1 for the Turkish team).
• 1400 spectators attended the game, helping to create a great Volleyball atmosphere .

After last week’s lost from SCANDICCI it was important for us to come back with some confidence. We won also in the Turkish Championship vs. Galatasaray, so we are at a good moment.”
