The ancient city of Ephesus and House of Virgin Mary in the Seljuk district are the most important and fundamental historical reflections of this characteristic of the city. The Clock Tower, Konak Square, The Elevator Tower and Historical Bazaar are the places worth seeing in Izmir. There are also very beautiful and touristic beaches. Pamucak Beach in Selçuk, Ilica and Altinkum Beach, Ayayorgi Bay in Çesme are some of those beaches along with Karaburun, Foca, Gümüldür, Seferihisar beaches.

Izmir had already hosted two Beach Volleyball Balkan Championships in past (in 2010 and 2019) and the U18 & U22 European Championships in 2020.

"With huge youth population, Izmir is a very promising city for sports events. We already hosted two big European Championships in 2020 successfully and more organisations will continue with Covid-19 measures strongly applied. We are once more very happy to host another CEV Beach Volleyball European Championship event. We appreciate for the support of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, CEV and Yesiltas Organisation."
