The Czech national team has only two games left to play in this year's GEL group stage and, as they have not lost a point so far, they can secure their qualification to the Final Four on Wednesday. If they win in Belgium, even a possible loss in the game against Estonia cannot deprive them of the top spot in the group. Moreover, the road to the Nations League could lead through the GEL Final Four. The finalists are guaranteed a ticket to the Challenger Cup, the winner of which will advance to the Nations League.

As originally expected, Wednesday's match between Belgium and the Czech Republic was supposed to decide which team would win Group C. In the end, everything is a little bit different. The young Belgian team is out of the 1st-place-fight after a defeat to the Czech Republic and two losses to Estonia. "In the end, our biggest rival is Estonia, who are gradually completing the team and picking themselves up. However, we are now focusing on the fact that we can make our last step to the Final Four in Belgium," says the Czech coach Jiří Novák, who will have to set the roster without Jakub Janouch.

In the game against Latvia, Patrik Indra, who probably made his last appearance in his home arena, where he "directed" the final game of this years UNIQA extraliga playoffs, was the striking force of the national team again.

"I am definitely not the number one opposite hitter. Me and Marek Šotola have been both playing regularly and the one who playes better, plays in the game. And I logically try to be on the court. Now it's time to squeeze the last of my strength out of me, but so far I feel great physically, even after an hard season"
