Khimik Yuzhny were looking for their first win of the 4th Round against the Germans from Allianz MTV Stuttgart, but the start did not seem to show things will be going their way. Allianz dominated the first two sets and looked like getting the win in straight sets would be only a formality. However, pushed forward by an amazing home crowd, Khimik fought back and won the 3rd set. The set that followed was the most balanced of the match, with both teams pushing hard. It was Allianz MTV Stuttgart that won the set and with it the match.

Krystal RIVERS, captain of Allianz MTV STUTTGART: "We showed the good start but then we made many mistakes. That’s why the opponent came back in the race. When the score was 20-24 in the 4th set we fought for every point and we won the game."

Daria STEPANOVSKA, captain of Khimik Yuzhny> "First of all I would like to say thank you to our fans who helped to break the game. Other component for our game is defense. This game is big experience for us and we hope it help to achieve the first victory in the group stage."

Ioannis ATHANASOPOULOS, head coach of Allianz MTV Stuttgart: "We expected such a hard game. We could win in the three straight sets but we made many mistakes. We have the reputation of the team who never give up. I said my team about this during the time-out and they win the game.

Dmitry MARYUKHNICH, assistant coach of Khimik: "We were preparing to the game very seriously but our work brought success in third and fourth sets. We made changes in our game after two sets and it helped to win the third set. We had chances to continue our fight in the tie-break but our opponent played in final segment of fourth set better than Khimik."
